Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female and the wounding of a man at 8218 Concord about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 30).
The female victim, Loreal Bronte Castro, 17, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A second victim, Simon Romero, 18, of Pearland, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was treated and released.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.R. Elsbury and Senior Police Officer R.P. Martinez reported:
After attending a Halloween party, the victims were seated in Mr. Romero’s pickup truck in front of the residence at the above location. An unknown vehicle drove by and the suspect or suspects began firing several gunshots, striking the victims and several vehicles also parked nearby. The shooter or shooters then fled the scene and remain at large.
