Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating an assault which resulted in a homicide.
On Tuesday, October 26th, 2010, at approximately 9:55 pm, members from the Seventh District responded to the 1600 block of Morris Rd, SE for the report of an assault. Upon their arrival they found a victim suffering from trauma to the head. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was treated and admitted. On Monday, November 1st, 2010 the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim is identified as 63 year-old Michael Washington of the 1600 block of Morris Road, SE.
