Following a 911 call received at approximately 5 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, police officers in the Acadian Peninsula, along with investigators from the RCMP Major Crime Unit in Bathurst, opened a homicide investigation, following the death of an 18-year-old man from Saint-Isidore.

The young man died during an altercation at a party he was attending with friends at a residence in Pointe-à-Tom, near Tracadie-Sheila. A 63-year-old man is presently in police custody and being interviewed by police. The investigation is ongoing.
