Five men charged in marijuana and cash bust in Edmonton

An Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) Team file concluded last night with the seizure of 10 pounds of marijuana and approximately $30,000 in cash, as well as the arrest of five individuals.

During the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 3, EDGE officers conducted three vehicle stops and executed a search warrant at a home on McLean Crescent in southwest Edmonton. As a result, officers seized about $30,000 in cash, 10 pounds of marijuana, several cell phones, and various drug packaging paraphernalia. The cash was seized under the Victims Restitution and Compensation Payment Act.

William David Akerman, 28, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, and two breaches of probation.

Amanda Rae Kossowman, 24, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Daniel John Maciej, 28, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Dustin Clinton Smith, 29, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Braun Michael Ruschby, 22, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
