At 12:15 a.m. of this date, WPS officers observed a silver Honda Civic parked at the rear of an industrial business center building complex in the 4000 block of the EC Row North Service Rd. As the officers pulled into the parking lot, they observed a male carrying a backpack and wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a bandana covering his face exit a smashed glass door leading to a medical supply services office. The suspect ran to the Honda and attempted to flee the area in the vehicle but was stopped in the parking lot and arrested.
A subsequent search of the suspect and his backpack uncovered tools including a prybar, wire cutters, screwdrivers and gloves. The bandana covering the suspect’s face had holes cut into it enabling him to see through. A further examination of the building revealed that the phone wires on the exterior of the building had been cut and the front glass pedestrian door had been smashed with a concrete block. Nothing had been removed from the business as a result of the break and enter.
