Three people have been charged and one person faces charges following an assault where one of the alleged assailants was shot.
On December 19, 2014 just before midnight, the St. Stephen RCMP were called to ahome in Honeydale, N.B. where someone had assaulted the homeowner. During the incident the alleged assailant was shot in the leg. A vehicle was also shot. The alleged assailant and the homeowner were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, appeared in St. Stephen Provincial Court and was charged with robbery and assault with a weapon. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear back in court on December 23 for a bail hearing.
19-year-old Anthony Defazio has been charged with robbery and breaching a probationorder. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear back in court on February 3, 2015.
68-year-old Michael Woodard has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear back in court on February 3, 2015.
A 19-year-old woman was arrested for robbery on December 22, 2014 in relation to this incident. She was released on a promise to appear in court on February 3, 2015.
The investigation is continuing.
