Suspect Codey Reginald Hennigar charged with second degree murder

Investigators with the Homicide Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Divisionhave determined that the cause of death of the third person in the January 7th house fire on Old Guysborough Road is a homicide.

Today, police laid a third charge of Second Degree Murder in the death of 74 year-old Ida Raye ‎Ward of Old Guysborough Road. As well, police have laid charges of Assault with a Weapon and Flight from Police.

Codey Reginald Hennigar will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on January 30th. Hennigar has been in custody since his arrest on January 9th.

The investigation continues.
