Mounties arrest Shediac man Chris Gallant for cocaine trafficking

On February 4, 2015 at around 4:00 p.m, members of the Southeast District RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Main Street in Shediac, N.B. Four Shediac residents were arrested, including a 45-year-old woman and three men aged 20, 54 and 73-years-old.

During the search, police seized quantities of marijuana and a drug believed to be cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia and cash.

On February 5, 2015, 20-year-old Chris Gallant was charged in Moncton Provincial Court with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and breaching the conditions of an undertaking. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on February 6, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. for a bail hearing.

The three others were released from custody and are expected to appear in Moncton Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation is ongoing.
