On June 5, 2015, Jean-Paul Lanteigne, 71, of Pointe-à-Tom, N.B. appeared in the Bathurst Court of Queen's Bench where he pleaded guilty to a historical charge of sexual assault.

Lanteigne elected to appear in front of a judge instead of proceeding with a jury trial. The charge stems from incidents that occurred between 1977 and 1980.

Lanteigne is expected back in the Bathurst Court of Queen's Bench on September 4, 2015 for sentencing.
