Richmond Mounties bust a major drug line, eight arrested

The Richmond RCMP Organized Crime Unit (OCU) began investigating a drug trafficking group in June 2014. Individuals within this group purportedly sold cocaine and other hard drugs throughout Richmond. These types of investigations are highly complex, resource intensive, and lengthy.

This investigation resulted in the identification of eight (8) individuals and the drug line was determined to have been selling cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin.

In April 21, 2015 during an alleged drug transaction near Lansdowne Road and No. 3 Rd, Richmond RCMP OCU arrested Randy Rothman and Tobias Zhuang.

The Public Prosecution Service of Canada has approved charges on eight (8) persons:

 

  • Randy Charles Rothman, 46, of Richmond 7 counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance and 1 count Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Tobias Zhuang, 26, of Richmond 1 Count Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking
  • Randy Bryan Geddes, 30, of Vancouver 5 counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance
  • Tsen Chen Hsia, 28, of Richmond 2 counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance
  • Desmond Shum, 19, of Richmond 4 counts Trafficking a Controlled Substance
  • Alexander Yamamoto, 29, of Richmond 4 counts Trafficking a Controlled Substance
  • Timothy Austin Yeung, 19, of Richmond 3 counts Trafficking a Controlled Substance
  • Elsie Sevim Yucesoy, 19, of Burnaby 2 Counts Trafficking a Controlled Substance

Of these eight individuals, seven have outstanding warrants for their arrest:
Randy Geddes, Randy Rothman, Tsen Chen Hsia, Desmond Shum, Alexander Yamamoto, Timothy Yeung, and Elsie Yucesoy.

The Richmond RCMP will methodically seek out drug traffickers in this city, said Corporal Hsieh of the Richmond RCMP OCU. There are currently seven (7) outstanding arrest warrants for the remaining individuals. We are confident that they will be in custody shortly.
