An arrest warrant has been issued for a man in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred during a New Year’s Eve party in Whitby

Central West Division officers were called to attend a triple stabbing incident during a New Year’s Eve party at a Sawdon Drive residence in the early morning hours of January 1st, 2011. A fight broke out amongst guests and an uninvited person who was causing problems at the party.

During the disturbance, three persons were stabbed and two other persons assaulted. The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated and released from hospital.

Police have identified the suspect in the assaults and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Matthew COUSSONS, age 24, of Whitby. Repeated attempts to contact him have failed.

He is described as a male, white, 6’ tall, weighing approximately 250 lbs. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and a goatee. He has a tattoo of a stylized letter "B" on his right cheek and a tattoo of "SUWU" on the left side of his neck.
