Calgary police confirm Joel Zalsos was murdered

The Calgary Police Service has confirmed a death in the city’s northwest is a homicide.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, police were called to a home in the 1100 block of 18 Avenue N.W., where a middle-aged man was found deceased.

An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner today, Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, determined the manner of death to be homicide. The cause of death is not being released at this time.

The victim has been identified as Joel ZALSOS, 36, of Calgary.
