Five charged for fraud at Bloorview School Authority, Toronto

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of five arrests in a fraud investigation.

It is alleged that:

– in September 2008, the Bloorview School Authority hired a Toronto Forensic Audit firm to conduct a financial review on the school’s finances between July 2006 to September 2008,

– the audit revealed that four employees and, one person not employed by the school, misappropriated approximately $700,000 from the Bloorview School Authority,

– the matter was then reported to the Toronto Police Fraud Squad.

Five people have been charged with the following offences:

Paula Gerolimon, 49, of Richmond Hill, Former Business, Finance Manager:

1. Fraud Over $5,000,
2. Falsification of Books or Documents,
3. Laundering Proceeds of Crime.

Linda LaRocque, 63, of Vernon, British Columbia, Former Principal/Director:

1. Fraud Over $5,000,
2. Laundering Proceeds of Crime.

Bo-Reum Han, 38, of Mississauga, Former Administrative Assistant:

1. Fraud Over $ 5,000.

Rose Hudson, 37, of Brampton, Former Secretary:

1. Fraud Over $ 5,000.

Sandra Charles, 36, of Toronto:

1. Fraud Over $5,000.

The accused are scheduled to appear at College Park Courts, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, room 505, 2 p.m.
