Hamilton man Anthony Burke charged with child pornography offences

The Hamilton Police Service has arrested and charged a Hamilton man alleged to be involved in numerous sexual and child pornography offences.

On November 17th, 2010, Hamilton Police were contacted by a victim of a sexual assault that happened during the summer of 2004 at a recreational facility in Waterdown. Investigators from the Victims of Crime Unit continued to investigate. During the investigation, Hamilton Police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) investigators received information that lead to the identification of a suspect, the same suspect identified in the alleged sexual assault.

On January 27th, 2011, at approximately 8:30 a.m., investigators from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Waterdown where the suspect was arrested and computer equipment from the home was seized for examination. The man arrested, Anthony BURKE, is expected to appear for a bail hearing today.
