Death of Jaswinder Takhar now considered a murder, Edmonton

On Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 EPS members responded to a report of a sudden death at a residence located in the area of 46 Street and 43 Avenue.

The body of 45-year-old Jaswinder Takhar had been discovered shortly before 4:30 p.m. Homicide Section was notified and became involved in the investigation due to suspicious circumstances at the scene.

The autopsy was conducted on Thursday, Dec. 2, however, cause of death could not be released until all medical testing had been completed.

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 the Edmonton Medical Examiner pronounced Takhar’s death a homicide. Cause of death is not being released at this time.

Detectives do not believe the homicide was random and continue to seek any information from the public that may lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible.
