Canada won the toss and sent the Netherlands into bat. Batting first, the Netherlands were dismissed for 151, setting a target which Canada overhauled with more than ten overs to spare. Khurram Chohan (2-18), Harvir Baidwan (2-29), Parth Desai (2-18) and Balaji Rao (2-12) all took two wickets for Canada as the Dutch were bowled out in 44.4 overs – Tom de Grooth top scoring with 41.
Canada’s victory charge was then led by Jimmy Hansra, whose unbeaten 54 led them to
a comfortable win despite Mudassar Bukhari returning four for 17.
Encouraging result for Canada! But it was a little worrying that Zimbabwe easily defeated Ireland. We could have our work cut out for us on February 28!
