Buffalo SabresBuffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier today announced that forward Paul Szczechura has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. 

Szczechura (5’10”, 186 lbs., 11/30/85) joins the Sabres on his third recall of the season. The forward has played two games with Buffalo this season and recorded two assists in his Sabres debut against Washington on Nov. 26. Szczechura also appeared in 83 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning during parts of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons, recording 16 points (9+7). 

The Brantford, Ont. native, who signed a one-year NHL contract with the Sabres on Aug. 9, has played in 12 games with Rochester this season, collecting eight points (1+7). In 226 career AHL games, Szczechura has totaled 156 points (63+93) with the Americans, the Norfolk Admirals and the Iowa Stars. 

The Sabres also announced that they have returned defenseman Joe Finley to Rochester.
