Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Saturday that the hockey club has recalled goaltender Ben Scrivens on an emergency basis from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Leafs also announced that goaltender Jonas Gustavsson is day-to-day with a knee injury and will not be in tonight’s lineup.
Scrivens, 25, has played eight games with the Maple Leafs this season, posting a 2-4-1 record with a 2.96 goals against average and a .904 save percentage. The native of Spruce Grove, Alberta has also appeared in 37 games for the Marlies in 2011-12, compiling a record of 21-14-1 with a 2.07 goals against average, a .925 save percentage and four shutouts.
