Buffalo SabresPysyk, McNabb and Adam assigned to Rochester

 

The Buffalo Sabres today announced the team has recalled forward Kevin Porter and defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced it has assigned defensemen Mark Pysyk and Brayden McNabb and forward Luke Adam to Rochester.

Porter (3/12/86, 5’11”, 194 lbs) re-joins the Sabres after being assigned to Rochester in October. While playing for the Americans, Porter appeared in 13 games and tallied 10 points (6+4). In six NHL seasons with Phoenix, Colorado and Buffalo, Porter has played in 203 games, recording 54 points (29+25). He signed a two-year contract with the Sabres in July 2012.

Ruhwedel (5/7/90, 5’11”, 181 lbs) joins the Sabres for his first call-up of the season after being assigned to Rochester at the close of training camp. He last played for the Sabres in a seven-game stint at the end of the 2012-13 season. In 26 games with the Americans this season, Ruhwedel has logged 14 points (4+10) and 12 penalty minutes. The Sabres signed the undrafted free agent to a two-year, entry-level contract in April 2013.
