For the first time since the beginning of Wimbledon 2012, no major upsets happened on Day 8 at All England Club.

On the men's side of the bracket, Spain's No.7 David Ferrer reached his first Wimbledon quarterfinal as he defeated Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 under the Centre Court roof.

No.4 Andy Murray finally made it to the top 8 after defeating Marin Cilic 7-5, 6-2, 6-3 and jumped into his fifth straight Wimbledon quarter-final.

No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will also be playing the quarterfinals after beating No. 10 Mardy Fish 4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. In the quarters, Tsonga will face No. 27 Philipp Kohlschreiber, who defeated Brian Baker 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.

The lowest-seeded man to reach the quarterfinals was No. 31 German player Florian Mayer – who took down No. 18 Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 on Tuesday. Now he will face the defending Wimbledon champion and world No. 1 Novak Djokovic within the quarter final match.

In Women’s bracket, the defending Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova lost against No. 6 Serena Williams. She blew away Kvitova in the straight sets with 6-3, 7-5, ending defending champ’s 11-match winning streak and advancing to the semifinals.

The 2012 Australian Open champion, No. 2 Victoria Azarenka beat unseeded Tamira Paszek 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Tuesday and advanced to her second consecutive Wimbledon semifinals with the win. In semifinal, she will face Serena. And in case, she beats Serena, she will overtake Maria Sharapova as the top-ranked woman in the world.

No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska squeaked past No. 17 Maria Kirilenko 7-5, 4-6, 7-5. While No. 8 Angelique Kerber, beat No. 15 Sabine Lisicki 6-3, 6-7 (7-9), 7-5 to get into the Semifinal.

Wednesday is all about the men's bracket. The ladies have the day off. They hammered out their quarterfinals matches on Day 8, and they will be back in action again on Day 10. All four of the world's top-five men players will be in contention heading into the quarterfinals.

Novak Djokovic will test his game against Florian Mayer of Germany. While Roger Federer will face Mikhail Youzhny in his challenging quarterfinals match.
