On Friday August 3, 2012, Brazil team will be playing against Canada. Canada won one and lost two group matches while Brazil lost all of their 3 group matches they have played so far, the winner of the Friday match will have a greater chance in qualifying into the quarter-finals in the Olympics.
With Canada and Brazil being a part of the same group zone both nations know each other very well. In the past three years, Canada and Brazil have played each other three times with Brazil won all the matches from Canada.
Brazil so far in the Olympics has had a tough start. They began the tournament with a 73-58 loss to France; trail up by a 69-59 loss to Russia and a defeated by Australia 67-61.
Brazil’s key attacking players are Karla Costa who is averaging 15.3 points per game in the tournament and centre Erika Souza, who is averaging 14.3 points and 8 rebounds for every game.
This is a do or die match for both the teams as looser cannot progress further. If we compare both the team in terms of numbers then Canada performing better than Brazil in the group matches.
