After a thrilling One Day International series, the Australian and Pakistan teams are now set to face each other in the first T20 of the three match series today, September 5, 2012, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Australia, after winning the ODI series by 2-1, is enthusiastic to win the T20 series but the Pakistani players, who are famous for their strike power, will resist hard and not let them have it. Looking at their respective progress in this format on the back of their current rankings could be a misleading research, where the green army occupies the sixth spot, while their opponents are ranked at a low position of  9^th.

Umar Gul and Mohammad Sami will prove to add a greater pace threat to the Pakistan team, while Imran Nazir and Abdul Razzaq would add a great fire power to the batting line. Pakistan’s probable T20 squad will include: Mohammad Hafeez (capt), Imran Nazir, Nasir Jamshed, Kamran Akmal (wk), Asad Shafiq, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Shahid Afridi, Yasir Arafat, Umar Akmal, Saeed Ajmal, Raza Hasan, Umar Gul, Mohammad Sami, Sohail Tanvir.

On the other hand, Brad Hogg’s wrist spin will add a dimension lacking from Australia’s ODI combination, while Shane Watson’s and Pat Cummins’ return will add power and pace. Australian squad may include: David Warner, Shane Watson, Matthew Wade (wk), David Hussey, Michael Hussey, George Bailey (capt), Cameron White, Daniel Christian, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Hogg, Xavier Doherty, Clint McKay, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Ben Hilfenhaus, Alister McDermott.
