The Davis Cup matches got underway on Friday 1st February 2013 between Canada and Spain, which takes place in Thunderbird Sports Centre, Vancouver, Canada.

The Thunderbird Sports Centre has been changed from a hockey venue into a top-notch tennis capacity. That alternation took them a week where more than 1,300 seats added and 10 cameras installed to track the ball during the matches.

On Feb. 1-3, Canada battles for just the fourth time in the elite Davis Cup since it was started in 1900. 2003 lifted Canada into the Davis Cup World Group for the first time in a decade. 

This time Canada has a good chance of upsetting their opponent Spain, who is without four of their top ranked players.

Rafael Nadal and Nicolas Almgaro are unable to play due to injuries, while David Ferrer and Fernando Verdasco prefer to miss the event to rest.

Canada’s Milos Raonic, 22, and veteran Daniel Nestor, 40, could give them a tough time on the hard court against the Spanish players who are good on clay.
