After successfully managing to avoid a likely loss in the opening test match, Sri Lanka will face England in the second test clash at Leeds on Friday.
To England’s relief, they broke their losing streak in Test cricket after the horror series against Australia but they will also be disappointed that they failed to grab a win when they were just only one Sri Lankan wicket away to enjoy a victory. The likely English line-up will include: 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Sam Robson, 3 Gary Ballance, 4 Ian Bell, 5 Joe Root, 6 Moeen Ali, 7 Matt Prior (wk), 8 Chris Jordan, 9 Stuart Broad, 10 Liam Plunkett, 11 James Anderson.
However, it seems to be unlikely having a draw in Leeds but Sri Lanka will feel quite confident they can do some damage in this Test series despite the conditions not suiting them. Nuwan Pradeep and Shaminda Eranga were once considered weak links for Sri Lanka but they bowled extremely well in the 1st Test despite England scoring a large first innings total. The probable Sri Lankan squad will include: 1 Kaushal Silva, 2 Dimuth Karunaratne, 3 Kumar Sangakkara, 4 Mahela Jayawardene, 5 Lahiru Thirimanne, 6 Angelo Mathews (capt), 7 Dinesh Chandimal (wkt), 8 Nuwan Kulasekara/Dhammika Prasad, 9 Rangana Herath, 10 Shaminda Eranga, 11 Nuwan Pradeep.
