"Race fans in Toronto don’t want to miss out on this year’s event, which will celebrate 25 years of racing on the streets of Toronto," said Charlie Johnstone, Vice President and General Manager of Honda Indy Toronto. "Tickets are available to suit everyone’s needs. We expect to have an action-packed weekend full of racing and entertainment, so fans will leave happy no matter which day they choose to attend."
Single-day reserved grandstand tickets start at $60 on Saturday and $65 for Sunday. Juniors can take advantage of discounted tickets, starting at $50 on Saturday and $55 for Sunday’s race. General admission passes start as low as $30 for adults and $15 for juniors. For the second year in a row, fans can enjoy the opening day of racing on ‘Free Friday’, courtesy of the Ontario Honda Dealers Association.
The marquee attraction at this year’s event will once again be the IZOD IndyCar Series, making a stop in Toronto midway through the 2011 season. Will Power, last year’s winner in Toronto, and Dario Franchitti, 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series champion, will be on hand to compete alongside a world-class lineup of drivers, including homegrown fan-favourites James Hinchcliffe, Alex Tagliani and Paul Tracy.
For the first time in Toronto, Ferrari enthusiasts will take to the track as part of the Ferrari Challenge. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series returns to Toronto for its second year, joined by other support series including Firestone Indy Lights, the premier ladder series to the IZOD IndyCar Series, and the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship.
To add to the on track excitement, fans will find plenty of ways to keep busy with entertainment areas throughout the site including Thunder Alley, an interactive fan-friendly zone located west of turn 2, along with the INDYCAR Fan Village, which aims to raise the fan experience by giving guests the opportunity to interact with drivers and teams, participate in racing simulators and receive exclusive information throughout the race.
