The dark clouds and rain seems to be following the MotoGP calendar race for race.  Germany was no exception with very little dry track time for the riders leading up to the Sunday’s race.  The riders all took the very little dry track data they could gather and went for it.

The odds of the weekend were in Dani Pedrosa’s favor as he was fast all weekend and has a stellar track record at the Sachsenring.   Ben Spies and Casey Stoner rounder out the front row and all are threats to the podium.

When the lights went out Casey Stoner gunned it to the front of the pack while Dani Pedrosa and Ben Spies were in tow.  After a few turns Stoner and Pedrosa already gapped the rest of the pack.

This race is almost a repeat of last weekend in Assen but this time Pedrosa learned from Assen to stalk Stoner and let him do all the work and wear himself out.  The two HRC Honda’s were riding at an incredible pace and Pedrosa finally put the move on Stoner with about 7 laps remaining.  Not only did Pedrosa pass Stoner but he set the fastest lap of the race shortly after showing how strong he was at the end of the race.

Andrea Dovisoso rode a brilliant race to third position once again fighting with teammate Cal Crutchlow until Crutchlow ran off the track towards the end of the race.  Ben Spies took advantage of this and jump on Dovi’s tail to take fourth.

Home track hero Stefan Bradl put in an amazing race taking fifth while holding off a freight train from Valentino Rossi, Alvaro Bautista (Who started last), Cal Crutchlow, Hector Barbera, and Nicky Hayden.

Stoner the was trying to make a pass at every opportunity with only a few laps left.  The last lap four corners from the finish Casey Stoner tries to put his final move on Dani Pedrosa for the win and loses the front end.  Unable to rejoin the race Pedrosa cruises to victory giving a free pass back to Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa to take the lead in the Championship points bumping Stoner back to third.
