Golf is an outdoor game that requires great athletic skill and control. This game was emerged from Scotland and in sub continent this game was introduced and patronized by the British and it has been a part of Asian games. Golf is the only game in Pakistan which literally started from a scratch after the establishment of Pakistan. After the establishment of Pakistan golf in Pakistan had to face many ups and downs.

In 1960 the Pakistan golf union was formed which late on took the form of Pakistan Golf Federation. Since 1971 new clubs have come up in Pakistan at different places and also developing additional courses to make this game popular among all people. At this time, in Pakistan clubs have affiliation with Pakistan Golf Federation and there are more than forty courses in total that are serving their best to promote golf in different cities of Pakistan. It has been an honor for Pakistan to be amongst the top three teams of the world which qualified for the golf world cup. The most strange thing is that unlike other games, the object of golf is to record the lowest score possible rather than the highest.

Many golf players are trying to improve this game and representing Pakistan. They are doing very well and helping in promotion of Golf in Pakistan. Amongst these players the most successful golf players are Muhammad Munir and Muhammad Shabbir. Muhammad Shabbir is ranked on first number while Muhammad Munir is on second number in Pakistan golf.

Muhammad Munir of Islamabad golf and country club is one of the top golf players. He is thirty eight years old. He has also represented Pakistan in different international level golf tournaments. Muhammad Munir as a golf player created history when he steered his country into first world cup appearance at the OMEGA MISSION HILLS WORLD CUP for the first time ever in 2009. He is rated as Pakistan’s number two golf player. The thirty eight years old Muhammad Munir of Islamabad Golf and country club after a fine performance in the Asian qualifying school has earned the right to feature on the Asian golf tour. Golf is not given attention as other popular sports like hockey and cricket but Muhammad Munir is hoping to be among the pioneers to turn the spotlight on this sport by giving his best performance in Asian tour. He has won a lot of prizes and awards for being such a successful golf player both nationally and internationally.  

Munir is a successful golf player and also looking for more success. He is on the way of success and making Pakistan to feel pride. Muhammad Munir has also won his maiden professional event the RAS-UL-KHAIMEH CLASSIC. He also performed creditably in other events in UAE and Saudi Arabia few months ago. He is now hoping to add another significant milestone in his country’s history by becoming the first graduate from Asian tour qualifying school.   

Pakistan needs people like Muhammad Munir to make Pakistan proud and he will prove to be helpful in improving social as well as economic status of Pakistan.
