HRH Prince Abdullah, who’s also the AFC Vice-President, was briefed about the preparations for the flagship AFC tournament by FFA Chief Executive Ben Buckley before meeting Chairman Lowy. HRH Prince Abdullah later visited the Sydney FC Stadium.
“This was my first visit to Australia in relation to the AFC Asian Cup and I was impressed with the facilities they have. I would like to thank the FFA for their hospitality,” said the Chairman of the AFC Asian Cup 2015 Organising Committee.
After visiting Sydney FC Stadium, HRH Prince Abdullah said: “I am quite happy with what I saw. The AFC Competitions Department will of course decide on the right facilities needed for a successful tournament.”
HRH Prince Ali also spoke about Australia’s sporting pedigree and how this would stand the AFC Asian Cup in good stead.
“Australia have a great record of hosting major international sports events. They have the expertise to ensure that the AFC Asian Cup sets a new benchmark when it comes to organisation.”
