A 3year-old is suffering from life-threatening injuries after falling from the sixth-floor of a building located in the east Toronto. Toronto police marked it as a suspicious incident.

"It looks like she fell from the apartment balcony," said Const. Tony Vella. According to Const. Tony Vella, the girl has severe body and head injuries.

9-1-1 received a call around 4 a.m. Thursday, and the girl was immediately rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children. It is not clear whether the fall was an accident or she was pushed on purpose. According to a few earlier reports, the girl is six years old; however, Const. Tony Vella confirmed she is three.

Moreover, a 24-year-old woman was taken into custody and brought to the hospital; she could be the girl’s mother. According to the neighbours, they heard loud noises and yelling before the girl fell.

The police department is investigating witnesses and looking into security video footage from the area to learn what exactly had happened.

"We’re still trying to determine what has happened to this child," the constable said.

A few weeks ago, a Toronto man was charged with attempted murder after his wife and daughters were pushed from the fourth-floor.
