Toronto FC announced Tuesday that the club has waived Emmanuel Gomez. The Gambian defender made six starts in nine league appearances during two seasons with the team.Gomez signed for Toronto on March 3, 2009 from Samger Football Club in his native Gambia. He missed the entire 2010 season due to a knee injury.
Gomez will be eligible for selection in Major League Soccer’s waiver draft on Wednesday.
