Transparency missing from Federal government on fighter jets and small business contracts
The minority government of Stephen Harper can’t remember it’s campaign promise of transparency. This week the Ottawa Citizen is reporting most of the contracts under $25,000 are sole-sourced as well. Last week the scandal was about the $9 billion contract for fighter jets without a tender.
Since Canada is not in a war with any super power that has better fighter planes than our F18s, many Canadians are asking is this the time to get Star Wars fighters. The Harper $47 billion stimulus spending was reported to be heavily in Conservative ridings by the Globe and Mail. Stimulus program favours Tory ridings Spending taxpayers money by the Liberals on their friends and family was a trait restricted to the Liberals, said Stephen Harper when he was in Opposition.
Since he has come to power, Harper has turned his back on the promised transparency and filled the bank accounts of his friends.
