Investigators from the Major Collision Bureau are asking that witnesses come forward, as they investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal two-vehicle collision.

On Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a 45 year-old woman from Woodbridge was driving west on Major MacKenzie Drive, approaching Highway 50, in her 2002 Toyota Camry. As she travelled through the intersection, her vehicle was struck by a northbound 2002 GMC straight truck, being driven by a 36 year-old man from Toronto.

The victim was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

At the request of the victim’s family, her name is not being released at this time.

No charges have been laid, as the matter is still under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to come forward to speak to investigators.
