Interested in knitting learning to knit? In this 3 hour workshop, I will teach you the basics of knitting with straight needles such as: cast on/cast off, knit/purl, increases/decreases, how to pick up dropped stitches, how to neatly knot ends, and more!
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR & THE CAMPAIGN
Hi, I’m Chloe Alexander, a queer, disabled low-income artist and designer with an affinity for DIY apparel creation and techniques. You can check out more of my work at www.chloealexanderdesign.net
Over a year ago I received a concussion and have been struggling with Post Concussive Syndrome ever since. While I’ve tried a plethora of things to help in my recovery I’ve seen the most results from treatment I have received at a ground-breaking, non-OHIP covered clinic that specializes in neurofeedback and vestibular rehabilitation. I’m hosting this workshop in part of my efforts to acquire continued funding for this treatment so that I can recover from Post Concussive Syndrome. More information about the fundraising campaign can be found at: https://www.gofundme.com/2hq626s

ACCESSIBILITY
This presentation will be in the “Innovation Lab” on the 4th floor at CSI Spadina (215 Spadina Avenue). This is a physically accessible space, with an accessible, gender neutral washroom. We we ask that guests come scent-free. Unfortunately, we do not have ASL interpretation for this event.
ABOUT THE WHEELHOUSE
The Wheelhouse is the concept of a community centre for those with no clear community – too often the marginalized in society face a hard limit on not only their personal development through education and resources, but also their ability to network with others in similar situations. The Wheelhouse aims to overcome issues of accessibility by promotoing intersectional and critical approaches, and to build a stronger community for those who most need it.
