Actress, athlete and activist Geena Davis takes the stage at the Valley Performing Arts Center as part of the VPAC’s spoken word series. An Oscar winner for The Accidental Tourist and a nominee for Thelma and Louise, Davis’s film career dates back to 1982 and includes The Fly, Beetlejuice and headlining the TV series Commander in Chief. A world class archer and trustee of the Women’s Sports Foundation, Davis supports the participation of women in sports through her website GeenaTakesAim.com. Through her nonprofit foundation See Jane, Davis works to increase the percentage of female characters in TV and film and to reduce gender stereotyping in the media for young children.
