Cult Favorite A Boy and His Dog, with Author Harlan Ellison in Person

American Cinematheque hosts a special screening of the 1975 cult classic A Boy and His Dog starring two-time Oscar-winner Jason Robards and a pre-Miami Vice Don Johnson. This slyly satiric tale about the survivors of a nuclear holocaust finds young Vic (Johnson) communicating telepathically with his dog as they scavenge for food and sex before stumbling upon a post apocalyptic underground society. Character actor L.Q. Jones directs and also appears in the film in a cameo role. Author Harlan Ellison, who wrote the novel on which the film is based, will be in conversation with Josh Olson following the screening. Learn more…
