Set in 1916, the play Mondigliani by the late Dennis McIntyre finds the gifted Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Clemente Modigliani fighting both his own demons and a world that refuses to accept his vision. Needing money to raise and rescue his child, he looks to create a masterpiece knowing full well that every artist in Paris is trying to do accomplish the same feat. McIntyre received the Avery and Jule Hopwood Award in Playwriting and Fiction, an MCA Fellowship in Playwriting and two Shubert Fellowships in Playwriting.
