On Sun. May 27 (2012), Nyood Bar (1096A Queen St. West, Toronto ON) presents the second edition of the Nyood Bar Pop-Up. This edition features the social media-savvy entrepreneurs behind Queen St. West’s newest addition to the fashion neighbourhood: The Store On Queen (TSOQ, 719 Queen St. West). TSOQ Owners Angela Phung and Valentina have curated the womenswear section of the pop-up, blending local design talent with beyond-the-border trends. The womenswear section will include pieces from such designers as Brandy and Melville, Chains Of Love, Motel, Tetiana K. and Made With Love. Toronto-based Killigrew will exhibit their sleek line of women’s/men’s tees and knitwear. Recently touted as one of Toronto’s 10 Upstart Fashion Brands (BlogTO, May 2012), Killigrew features a sleek collection that promotes comfort and simplicity. Photographers Without Borders (PWB) will create an onsite installation of striking images taken by a community of skilled photographers including Sandra Herber, Mike Good and Jeremy Kai. 25% of every sale is donated to a partner grassroots charity of the buyer’s choice. The May 27th Nyood Bar Pop-Up features a theme fittingly titled “Let Them Eat Cake”. DJ Etro will spin for guests as they enjoy mini cupcakes and $5 mimosas.
