BIG on Bloor is a fun, free, all-ages, all-encompassing festival which will include a wide range of musical, artistic and engaging family activities and exhibitions. Artists and vendors are invited to entertain, showcase and sell their wares throughout the weekend during a host of featured events such as “Savour Bloor” – special-in store events, a food court and multicultural culinary treats – and the BAAF(Bloor Alternative Art Fair) – contemporary art, performance and interactive art, as well as collaborative efforts from art institutions, collectives, galleries and art educators. Side by side, established and emerging talented contributors bring a vibrant mix of art practices to Toronto’s Bloordale Bloor Street. Not to mention an awards ceremony that celebrates the achievements of local citizens. Elected officials, Councilor Ana Bailao of Ward 18, Jonah Schein, Member of Provincial Parliament, and Andrew Cash, Canadian Member of Parliament, will present awards to outstanding individuals in the community..

Fast becoming known as one of Canada’s most original and innovative festivals, this year it will feature “Culture Works,” an initiative that will promote some of Canada’s most important cultural institutions, organizations and collectives to bring their programming to the street and enhance Toronto’s cultural scene. Contributors such as The Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Arts, The Toronto Zoo, Ontario Science Centre, Canada Textile Museum, The Royal Ontario Museum and many others offer free events to see, touch, learn and participate in!

Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming weeks when the festival will announce the artists, the stages and more special attractions!
