Ford Amphitheatre (Hollywood, CA)
“Chai” — which symbolizes both the number 18 and the word “life” in Hebrew — is considered very lucky, so as the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony (LAJS) celebrates its 18th anniversary, they’re sharing their good fortune with the folks who’ll gather at their annual outdoor concert at the Ford. This special show features a U.S. premiere of the Klezmopolitan Suite by Niki Reiser, a former member of a famed klezmer group Kol Simcha, along with a performance by the newly-formed Jewish Community Children’s Choir. Plus, fans can expect a big finale with surprise guest artists. LAJS founder Dr. Noreen Green conducts, with soloists including concertmaster Mark Kashper, principal cellist Barry Gold and principal clarinetist Zinovy Goro. Come early and enjoy a picnic on the grounds too.
