Back by popular demand, award-winning (and cute-as-a-button) Canadian folk duo Dala bring their infectious melodies and tight harmonies to Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University for one night of the singer-songwriter pair’s quirky, catchy original compositions and classic covers. Over the past decade, Dala’s Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine have released five albums and toured extensively across North America, performing at the Newport Folk Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and seemingly everywhere in between. Winners of the 2010 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, the charming twosome draws influences from legendary performers Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and The Beatles (evident on their single, “Lennon and McCartney”).
