Catch many of the hottest acts in the genre perform live for the show as Telemundo broadcasts the second annual Billboard Mexican Music Awards from the historic Shrine Auditorium. The young DJ group 3BallMTY, which leads the finalists with nominations in 12 categories, are set to take the stage, along with regional Mexican stars Pepe Aguilar, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Ana Barbara, and Julion Alvarez y su Norteño Banda. Among the other nominees are Gerardo Ortiz, last year’s big winner, who’s back again with his progressive norteño narcocorridos. Awards will be handed out in 32 categories, including in the subgenres of banda, norteño, mariachi/ranchera and duranguense/grupero music. Billboard will also honor the top labels, publishers, producers and songwriters of the year from this popular and up-and-coming genre. And you’ll be right there to see and hear it all as it happens for the Spanish-language telecast.
