The Barnum Hall Theater (Santa Monica, CA)

The New West Symphony takes a musical journey to Italy — and they’re taking you along with them. Felix Mendelssohn’s exuberant, sunny Italian Symphony will be the highlight of the program. The acclaim that greeted the piece after its debut in 1833 helped cement Mendelssohn’s position as Queen Victoria’s favorite composer. Continuing the Italian theme, the orchestra will by joined by soprano Dina Kuznetsova to play favorite arias by Verdi and Puccini. The overture to Verdi’s La Forza del Destino will open the concert.
