Led by two-time Olympic gold medalist and All-NBA First-Team star Paul, the Clippers posted their best record ever, finishing fifth in the Western Conference. The Mavericks, who won the 2011 NBA Championship, are still led by high-scoring German big man Nowitzki and athletic forward Shawn Marion, but they’ve also got a new supporting cast, featuring ex-Clippers Elton Brand and Chris Kaman, as well as a pair of promising young players with Los Angeles ties: former UCLA point guard Darren Collison and ex-USC star O.J. Mayo.
