Rap star Wiz Khalifa comes to the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk with his 2050 tour. Born in Pittsburgh, Khalifa first broke out as a national star with “Black and Yellow.” The song, whose title makes reference to his hometown’s professional sports teams and their uniforms, hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts and was nominated for two Grammy Awards. The song’s remix features Snoop Dogg, who’s since struck up a close friendship with Khalifa, collaborating with him on several projects. His debut album Rolling Papers hit No. 2 on the Billboard charts, and he was named the year’s best new artist at the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards and the BET Music awards. He’s slated to release his second album, O.N.I.F.C., in December 2012. He’s performing alongside artists from his record label, Taylor Gang Records: Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Lola Monroe, Berner and Tuki Carter.
