From his looks, guitar playing and singing, John Mueller is one of the best Buddy Holly tribute acts around, and he is lending his talents to help support this Society of Singers benefit concert. Mueller is an actor and musician who has been playing the role since he won a Drama Desk award for his performance in Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story. He’s jammed with members of the Crickets and has earned praise from Holly’s widow, María Elena Holly, who will also appear at the event. The concert will also feature Jay Richardson, the Big Bopper’s son, and Ray Anthony performing as Richie Valens. The original lead singer of the Diamonds, Dave Somerville, will also perform some of the vocal group’s hits.
