Known on the streets of L.A. as Rubberband, Victor Quijada became a dancer in Twyla Tharp’s company, later joining Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal. He started his own dance company, RUBBERBANDance Group, whose fusion of ballet and street dancing has made them sought-after performers at dance festivals throughout North America, Europe and Japan. Quijada’s choreography deftly conveys the ardor of violence, tenderness, comedy and tragedy as it reveals the truth about the human condition.
