Tommy Emmanuel, voted Best Acoustic Guitarist in Guitar Player magazine’s 2010 Reader’s Choice Awards and star of a 2011 PBS special, comes to the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for an exciting evening of guitar playing. A two-time Grammy nominee, the Australian Emmanuel uses an uncommon ten-fingered style, known as Travis picking, first popularized by the legendary Chet Atkins, who counts himself as among Emmanuel’s greatest fans. Atkins even named Emmanuel a Certified Guitar Player, one of only a handful ever to receive that honor. He’s also played alongside greats like Eric Clapton and Les Paul.
