Jim Beaver is one of “those guys” — a familiar face you might recognize from his many TV appearances, including Deadwood, Justified and Breaking Bad. In Sidekick, this versatile actor portrays Buck Lucas, an old-time cowboy who took advantage of his real-life background to become a sidekick and star in a series of Republic Pictures’ B-level westerns. This show, originally commissioned by the Actors Theatre of Louisville, finds Beaver at his best, portraying a man thrust into the wild west of Hollywood.
