Long Beach Performing Arts Center, Terrace Theater (Long Beach, CA)

The Long Beach Symphony performs at the beautiful Terrace Theatre at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. The Symphony will present two evocative, dramatic works from great European composers, Beethoven and Stravinsky. Beethoven’s Violin Concerto is one of the most important pieces in the violin repertoire. It is considered one of the most challenging works of this genre and one of the most frequently performed pieces for the instrument. The program also features Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, a piece composed for a ballet which was so controversial on its debut that it sparked a riot in the theater. Now it is the composer’s most famous work and is considered to be a milestone in the ballet world that changed the way dance was performed.
