Actors’ Repertory Theatre of Simi presents Les Misérables, the hit musical that’s broken box office records worldwide for more than 25 years. One of the longest-running musicals in history, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables tells the epic tale of ex-convict Jean Valjean’s struggle for redemption in 19th-century France. Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical in its original Broadway run, the lush Boublil and Schönberg score features the classic songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “One Day More” and many others. The long-awaited film adaptation starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway opened on Christmas Day 2012, introducing the story to legions more fans.
